Jinan Zunkai Materials has expanded its marine-grade AH36 steel plate inventory to include larger dimensional formats, responding to shipyard and offshore engineering demand for plates that reduce welding seams in large structural assemblies. The new stock includes plates in widths up to 2,500 mm and lengths to 12,000 mm.
Previously, Zunkai's standard AH36 plate inventory was limited to 2,000 mm maximum width. The expanded range now includes:
Larger plate dimensions reduce the number of butt welds required in hull panel assemblies, deck plating, and offshore platform modules. For a typical hull side shell panel 12 meters long, a single 2,500 × 12,000 mm plate replaces two or three smaller plates, reducing welding labor cost and inspection requirements.
AH36 plates are produced to ASTM A131 / ABS / DNV specifications with Class Society certification available. Standard stock carries EN 10204 3.1 mill certificates. 3.2 certificates with classification society surveyor endorsement (ABS, DNV, BV, LR, CCS) are arranged for classed vessel construction on request.
Mechanical properties: minimum yield strength 355 MPa, tensile strength 490–620 MPa, elongation ≥21%. Impact testing at 0°C (AH designation) with minimum absorbed energy of 34J.
Plates exceeding 2,000 mm width require special container loading arrangements — either open-top containers or flat-rack containers. For large-volume orders of wide plates, break-bulk vessel loading at Qingdao or Tianjin ports may be more economical than containerized shipping. Zunkai's logistics team assesses loading configuration case by case to minimize freight cost.
